- Fertile or sterile fronds, pinnate, bipinnate, tripinnate
or dichotomously branched, without an arrested laminar bud;
primary pinnae variable in size and shape; secondary pinnae
alternate to sub-opposite; pinnules small (ca. 5 mm wide and
long), alternate to opposite, elliptic or deltoid to falcate or rhombic,
apex round to acute; pinnule venation consisting of a midvein and
two to five pairs of lateral veins, simple and/or branched once or
twice; when fertile, having one to numerous circular sori in the
abaxial side of the pinnules.
