- Diagnosis
- Stalked sporangia lateral on axis and in a helical arrangement, roughly generating four vertical rows. Sporangia dorsoventrally flattened, composed of two unequal valves; adaxial valve, smaller, round in face view; abaxial valve, larger, triangular or wedge-shaped, having long spiny appendages along distal margin and in a radial arrangement.
