- Diagnosis
- Pistillate heads globose 8 mm in diameter, gregarious, about 9 heads per axis. Basal heads
pedunculate, distal sessile. Head consisting of a spheroid receptacle bearing up to 35 radial florets at different
developmental stages. Each floret with a solitary carpel
enclosed in perianth tube. Ripe fruit narrowly elliptical,
style deciduous.
