Bodeostrobus bennholdii
Diagnosis
Lycopsid megastrobili consisting of unbranched axis, bearing spirally arranged megasporophylls. Megasporophylls leaf-like, flattened, linear, departing at acute or at right angle from megastrobilus axis and bearing a single elongated megasporangium, dehiscing by wall decay. Each megasporangium contains a single tetrade of Cystosporites-type megaspores, three of which are abortive.
