Diagnosis

Uniseriate, unbranched chains of rod-shaped cells contained within a thin sheath. Cells range from 0.5-1.0 /~m in length and are uniformly 0.5 ~m in width (13 cells measured). Sheaths about 0.1/~m thick, indistinct except where ceils are absent. Filaments sinuous to recurved, up to 40/.tm long, or possibly Ionger.
