- Flower small, apparently bisexual, perhaps functionally unisexual,
actinomorphic, floral parts whorled, all whorls alternating; perianth hexa- to
heptamerous, epigynous or semiepigynous; calyx of 6-7 sepals (?); corolla of
6-7 petals; androecium of 6-7 stamens; anthers basifixed, not well delimited
from filament, with massive sterile apex, disporangiate, opening by a valve on each
side, valve hinged on the ventral side; pollen grains isopolar, spheroidal to subprolate,
tricolpate with long colpi, pollen wall tectate and perforate; staminodia
6 - 7 (?); gynoecium (2-? to) 3-merous, carpels basally connate and united with the
hypanthium to form a semiinferior or inferior ovary; styles free; placentation possibly
axile (?); ovules possibly two (?).
