- Diagnosis
- The fossil species is preserved with a reproductive shoot characteristic of ephedroid morphology. The articulate shoot consists of swollen nodes and internodes; the internodes have many fine longitudinal striations. The spreading leaves are opposite at nodes, linear and elongated. The relatively compact female spikes are either dichasially branched at the base or unbranched, with no visible nodes and internodes. The bracts are opposite on cone axis, triangular and incurved, with each subtending an axillary sessile female reproductive unit.
