Diagnosis
Pollen cones borne in terminal clusters of about four on a vegetative branch bearing helically arranged bud scales and needlelike leaves. Cones small, subglobose, bearing helically arranged microsporophylls with one central resin canal. Stem and central axis without resin canal system. Sporophylls with three abaxial pollen sacs. Cells of pollen sac walls radially elongate, rectangular; walls prominently thickened. Pollen nonsaccate, with distal germination pore.
