Diagnosis
Plant monopodial, with zigzag to straight, prostrate to upright main axes. Dense roots attached on some internodes of main axes. First-order branches inserted on main axes in alternate pairs, showing a quadriseriate arrangement. First-order branches, on the proximal portions, bearing sterile ultimate appendages composed of dichotomous branching systems. Second-order branches borne alternately on firstorder branches, bearing alternate ultimate appendages which may be fertile or sterile. Sterile ultimate appendages of second-order branches with one or two successive dichotomies and paired tips curving oppositely. Each fertile appendage with an initial dichotomy forming two sister branches, each of which dichotomizes three or four times to form a small sporangial cluster. Sporangia with pointed tips and longitudinal dehiscence.
