Diagnosis
Leaves bipinnate with at least three pairs of pinnae or detached pinnae and leaflets; pinnae opposite; petiole and pinnae with pulvinus at base; pinnae bear approximately 14 pairs of coriaceous leaflets; leaflets opposite, subopposite or alternate; sessile or with short petiolule; leaflet base strongly asymmetrical with widest portion oriented distally; apex symmetrical, acute and mucronate or rounded to emarginate; midvein prominent and straight; fine venation immersed in leaflet tissue; secondary veins seldom preserved, brochidodromous; cuticle: adaxial trichomes and trichome bases absent, stomata abaxial, paracytic, abaxial uniseriate single celled or multicelled trichomes may or may not be present. When trichomes are present, trichome basal cell complex consists of 6-8 radially arranged cells with a small basal cell.
