- Wood diffuse-porous. Vessels solitary and in short radial multiples, some tendency
to vessels arranged in a tangential pattern, tangential diameter less than 100 μm, fewer
than 20 per mm2. Perforations simple, intervessel pits crowded alternate. Axial parenchyma
scanty paratracheal to vasicentric. Heterocellular rays, less than 1 mm high,
and mostly less than 4 cells wide.
