Diagnosis
Substantial tree trunks; pith, broad, heterocellular with sclereid cells; sclereid cells are isolated and scattered within the pith, and infilled with resin; cauline bundles, extremely numerous (typically 100) around the pith circumference, mesarch, and nonsympodial; leaf traces, helically-arranged, locally paired, and occluded by parenchyma at the first tree ring boundary; departing leaf traces show a complex of dividing strands on their inner surface; marked tree rings.
