Diagnosis
Ovulate cones with slender axis about 2--3 mm thick at base, bearing ovuliferous scales attached perpendicularly or at a broad angle, probably subtended by bracts. Ovuliferous scales narrow at point of attachment, flaring into a distal portion that is abruptly bent toward the distal end of the cone; distal portion of scale flared into a five-lobed structure 5-6 mm X 5-6 mm, lobes rounded, apparently woody in nature. Three seeds borne on adaxial surface of scale in positions corresponding to the three median lobes of the scale.
