- Diagnosis
- Male catkin (inflorescence) small, longer than wide. Male flowers small (floret), apetalous, spirally arranged into an elongate catkin (Pl. 4, figs. 1,2). Flowers composed of four stamens attached to a single bract. Isolated pollen grains triporate, angulaperturate, tectate, amb triangular, aspidate. With the addition of a SEM, the sculpture is composed of irregularly spaced microgranules.
