- Diagnosis
- Leaves thin, small, less than 10 mm wide, spatulate, with well-developed cuticle. Mesophyll parenchymatous and compact, occasionally preserving dark brown or black cell contents. Vascular bundles distinct and circular in transverse section with endarch primary xylem. Weakly developed hypodermal sclerenchymatous strands above and below vascular bundles. One intervein hypodermal sclerenchymatous strand separating every one or two vascular bundles.
