- Diagnosis
- Polyxylic stem with a wide, central, parenchymatous pith containing mucilage
canals and medullary bundles. Vascular cylinder composed of two rings of collateral vascular
strands and centripetal vascular bundles with respect to the inner ring. Cortex
parenchymatous with extrafascicular concentric bundles and girdling leaf traces in the external
zone. Persistent leaf bases are of small dimensions.
