Diagnosis
Discoidal cycles, up to 6 cm in diameter, with cuticular covering, central hole ca. 2.0 – 2.5 cm in diameter, radiating fi ber strands, thickened outer rim. Cuticle thin, epidermal cells square to elongate, stomatal apparatus paratetracytic. Seeds numerous, basally attached to fi ber strands; 2 mm in length; ovoid seed body, elongate micropylar end, short chalazal neck; adpressed thickened bands obscuring longitudinal ridges and transverse ribs.
