Diagnosis
Cordaitean fructifications preserved as compressions (and impressions)-diameters up to c. 2.5 cm (bracts included) in the transversal plane-built up of c. 9 cm long, flattened, 1-4 mm broad main axes, which are faintly striated longitudinally and provided at varying intervals with pith diaphragms, each of but slightly smaller diameter in the transversal plane than the corresponding entire axis. The main axes carry distichously arranged, alternate or sub-opposite bracts fairly far apart in each row, and globose or ovoidal, 2-4 mm long, max. 1.5-2.5 mm thick dwarf shoots placed singly in their axils. Bracts decurrent on the main axis; their laminae entire, patent, almost straight or concave upwards and in their distal parts occasionally bent slightly downwards, 5 to c. 20 mm long, very narrow, sub-linear, in lateral view tapering from their c. 1 mm thick bases to thin distal extremities, projecting considerably beyond the apices of the dwarf shoots. The scales of these most likely spirally arranged, appressed, imbricate, more or less flattened, triangular or broadly lanceolate, probably at least c. 2 mm long and c. l mm broad. No traces of seeds or seed pedicels found.
