Growth ring boundaries nearly indistinct. Vessels diffuse-porous, mostly solitary or sometimes paired, density of approximately 100 vessels per mm2, tangential diameter about 45 μm, radial diameter about 100 μm; perforations simple, inter-vessel pits oval and alternate, vessel-ray pits are similar to inter-vessel pits. Axial parenchyma apotracheally diffuse. Thick-walled fibers with diameters ranging from 7 to 20 μm. Rays multi- to 6-seriate, 3 – 32 cells high, and homocellular.
