Diagnosis
Spores round in equatorial view; in lateral view, the distal surface is hemispherical and the apical surface is pyramidal with the height much less than the width. The trilete mark is conspicuous and with prominent labra that are between 10 and 15 m in height with the maximum at the proximal pole. The trilete mark is 4/7 to 6/7 of the spore diameter. The curvaturae are clearly developed, between 10 and 13 m in width and concave towards the equator at their junction with the labra. In the contact area, the exine is 2–3 m in thickness and the surface smooth to infragranulate. Outside the contact area, the surface is ornamented with rounded verrucae surmounted by blunt spines. These are usually between 2–4 m in height and 4–7 m in width, their height being less than the basal diameter. The bases of the verrucae are connected to form an irregular mesh. The diameter of areas that are sculptureless is between 4.5 and 13 m. The sculpture on the curvaturae is well developed (4–7 m), varying from verrucae with apical coni to rounded verrucae.
