Nomenclaturally superfluous when published adopting the epithet of the illegitimate re-naming, Odontopteris bergeri Göpp. (Syst. Filic. Foss.: 215. 24 Sept 1836 [reprinted from Nov. Actorum Acad. Caes. Leop.-Carol. Nat. Cur. 17(Suppl.)]). Proposed for conservation with that type by A. B. Doweld (in Taxon 61(5): 1128-1129. 2012).
