Diagnosis
Leaves ovate to lanceolate, apex acute or obtuse, veins 18– 28 per cm at widest part. Leaves hypostomatic, cell shapes differentiated into costal and intercostal zones on the both surfaces. Anticlinal cell walls straight or irregularly thickened, periclinal ones smooth. Stomata in discontinuous rows, oriented transversely, rarely obliquely. Stomatal complexes often with adjacent, rarely shared, lateral subsidiary cells.
