- Diagnosis
- Compound infructescences. The primary axis bearing semidecussately to nearly helically arranged secondary axes with fruits. Each secondary axis borne in the axil of a primary bract. The secondary axes bearing 100–150 sessile fruits, which are closely spaced and helically arranged. Each fruit supported by a small bract. Fruits circular in outline with numerous resin bodies in the fruit wall. The fruit apex with a circular, sessile stigma. Pollen grains adhering on the stigma of the Retimonocolpites type. Fruit wall thin. Seed coat thick, consisting of two layers.
