- Secondary xylem of Podocarpoxylon GOTHAN
with a wood of stem, growth layer distinct,
resin canals absent, bordered pits on radial tracheid
walls abietoid, arranged in one or two
rows, wood parenchyma abundant, rays in late
wood widened, uniseriate, more than 70,
mostly 1-30 (80%) cells high, in tangential
view very narrow and slender, cells distinctly
higher than wide, walls of rays smooth, in the
cross-field 1-3 podocarpoid pits.
