Diagnosis
Mosacaulis species with uncompressed (circular) stem 4–14 mm in diameter. Contact parastichy numbers 5 (clockwise) and 3 (counterclockwise). Main area of a leaf base (excluding acuminate lateral extensions) up to c. 3 mm high and 8 mm wide. Adaxial scale (blade plus spines) of the trifurcate distal part of leaf base 6–9×1–2 mm; abaxial spine 1–4mm long.
