Diagnosis
Smooth axes at least 10 cm long and 2.0--3.0 mm wide which branch dichotomously and appear flexuous. One axis with a single rounded lateral protuberance, 2.0 mm long and 1.5 mm wide. Surface of axes striated. Xylem in absence of branching consists of a terete strand of tracheids at least 450 pm in diameter. Tracheid diameter 15--45 pm with majority 40 pm in diameter. ?Centrarch. Tracheidal secondary thickening is annular with bars 1--1.5 tim wide and 3--6 pm apart. Smaller tracheids have more widely spaced bars. Phloem and inner cortex not preserved. Outer cortex composed of 1--2 rows of thick-walled elongate cells; 25--50 t~m in diameter (with majority 45 pm wide) and at least 300 pm long. ?Epidermis of small fusiform cells.
