Diagnosis
Large broad elliptic triveined leaves with abaxial cuticle distinctly papillate, almost hairless except over veins. Leaves broadly elliptic, 34-70 mm wide and about 90-130 mm long, cuneate at base (apex not preserved), entire-margined, petiolate (petiole short, thick, about 12 mm long), venation acrodromous, midrib prominent, straight, basal veins arising from the very base of the lamina, almost straight, looping along the margin, reaching over half of the lamina, higher secondaries widely spaced, alternate, under wide angles, tertiaries between the midrib and basal veins horizontal, dense, abmedial veinlets from basal veins numerous, eucamptodromous; texture medium coriaceous, adaxial cuticle thin, granulate, with cell structure rarely preserved (SM. B 314), ordinary cells polygonal, with curved to shallow undulate anticlines, 25-35 ~tm across, abaxial cuticle fairly thick, ordinary cells distinctly domed to papillate, vaguely delimited, (?) 14-16 um across, with curved anticlines hidden mostly by papillae, stomata paracytic, broad elliptic, 16-20 ~tm long, with short stomatal slit and very thin ledges, trichome bases simple, in some specimens dense, mostly solitary in intercostal areas, denser over veins, oil cells rare.
