- Diagnosis
- Wood with growth rings, diffuse porous. Vessels solitary and in short
radial multiples, mean tangential diameter 100–150 μm, perforations simple; intervessel pits alternate; vessel-ray parenchyma pits variable within individual cells, simple, similar in size to intervessel pits to enlarged. Fibers non-septate. Axial parenchyma scanty paratracheal to vasicentric, diffuse-in-aggregates to banded, and in marginal bands. Rays non-storied, 1–9-seriate with procumbent body ray cells, sheath cells, and 1–4 rows of marginal cells. Axial parenchyma, vessel elements, and fibers storied.
