Diagnosis
Ultimate leaf shoots 1-5 cm in length, and 4-8 mm in diameter, branched off at 25-40°, covered spirally disposed, scale-like, densely spaced imbricate leaves. Axes straight, robust, 1,5-2 mm in diameter at ultimate shoots and 5-7 mm in diameter at the perennial shoots. Leaves sessile, falcate, short, broad, with decurrent bases and acute incurved apices; 2-3 mm mm long and 1,5-2,5 mm wide; in lateral view falcate, in upper part dorsiventrally flattened, in view from above -- romboidal or ovate; in section rhomboidal, with distinct abaxial keel and weaker lateral keels, spread from axis at an angle of 30-40°. Leaves at the perennial shoots are bigger, up to 5 mm in length, more widely spaced and spread from axis at an angle of 40-50°. Seed cones on short stout leafy stalks, ovoid, 12-15 mm long, 9-10 mm in diameter. Cone scales woody, flattened, numerous, helically arranged, romboidal, with acute triangular apices and short stalks.
