Diagnosis
Diffuse-porous wood, vessels solitary and in radial multiples, vessel diameters small-medium in sized. Minute alternate intervessel pits. Vessel-ray parenchyma pits similar in size and shape to intervessel pits. Perforation plates simple. Tyloses abundant. Parenchyma paratracheal vasicentric and confluent; parenchyma apotracheal diffuse. Rays heterogeneous type II B to- rays of two distinct sizes, mostly 1–4-seriatewith sheath cells. Non-septate fibres. Prismatic crystals in upright and/or square marginal ray parenchyma cells. Irregularly storied rays, fibres, axial parenchyma and vessel elements.
