- Inflorescence with stout· lo~udi®ll.Y-s.tri.at~9 -"-~xjs bearing two opposite rows of alternate 'catkins' .• Those on the lower portion of the axis have a small Carpolithes-like ovoid seed about 4·5 mm. long and 2 mm. broad, subtended by a single narrow bract at least 9 mm. long; upper 'catkins' 9 mm. long and about 2 mm. broad, a;pparently composed of a small number of narrow bracts whose basal portions form a close bud but whose upper ends are free and slightly spreading.
