Diagnosis
Shoots with helically arranged leaves. Leaves sessile and dorsoventrally flattened, linear to lanceolate, falcate, bending upward distally, base broad and decurrent, apex acute. Leaves hypostomatic. Cells of the adaxial surface quadrangular, elongated, anticlinal cell walls straight. Cells of the abaxial surface quadrangular to polygonal, and short to elongated, anticlinal cell walls straight to undulating. Periclinal cell walls of both adaxial and abaxial surfaces smooth, sometimes with cuticular thickenings in the stomatal bands. Stomata crowded in two narrow bands. Stomata orientated transversely or irregularly. Subsidiary cells without papillae.
