Originally given as "Oreopanax protomulticaulis (Rásky) n. comb."; but the basionym (Schefflera protomulticaulis Rásky in J. Paleontol. 33(3): 459. 29 May 1959) was not validly published. However, the validated name is nomenclaturally superfluous since it included in synonymy previously validly published fossil-species, Scolopia protoluzonensis Rásky (in J. Paleontol. 33(3): 457. 29 May 1959).
