Diagnosis
Oosporangia 180 μ—190 μ long, and 130 μ—i8o μ wide, most or all compressed, prolate spheroidal to subprolate as viewed from the broadest sides. Spiral cells probably five, sinistrally spiralled, uncalcified, 25 μ—30 μ wide in the vicinity of EA, slightly narrowing towards the poles, with ecjuatorial angles < 10°, and showing six to eight slightly concave to flat convolutions. Apical poles formed by the union of five cell tips, at least in some cases broadened up to 60 μ apically, along a zig-zag line. Ectosporostine membrane reticulate, meshes in one layer only, widths of i 1/2—5 μ, sometimes arranged in rows perpendicular to the intercellular ridges. Fructification walls 10—20 μ thick.
