- Diagnosis
- Microsporangiate (male) reproductive organs of gymnosperms consisting of four sporangia connected at their bases. Sporangia elliptic, with
acute acuminate apex and cuneate base. Synangium
adaxial surface bearing small round disc of attachment
with concentric circular scar in its central part. Sporangium wall consisting of long trapezoid cells
arranged in spiral order in relation to long axis of sporangium. Prolonged secretory (resin) channels
present, positioned along sporangium wall cells. In
situ pollen grains of Falcisporites type.
