- Diagnosis
- Stems covered with alternatively whorled or in parastichies microphyll cushions, relatively large, suborbicular, up to 3–3.5 mm in diameter, the upper part slightly bulged; three small dots in the microphyll scars obscurely seen, situated at the upper part of the microphyll scars. The middle dot (vascular scar) seems to be higher than the lateral small dots (lateral
scars = parichnos). The distance between the upper and lower microphyll scars is 13–14 (occasionally 17) mm; the distance between the left and right microphyll scars is 12–14 mm. There are longitudinally thin and/or zigzagged ripples between microphyll scars, and also some dotted ornamentations. The zigzagged ripples form an “X” near the microphyll scars. Ligule pit not visible.
