Diagnosis
Plant with smooth, isotomously branching axes, 0.06–0.14 mm wide, terminating in solitary ellipsoidal elongate sporangia. Sporangia simple or bifurcate, when simple, 0.31–0.89 mm high and 0.19–0.54 mm wide. Maximum sporangial width is approximately at mid point; height/width ratio = 1.5–2.9. Sporangial apices bluntly rounded. Superficial layer of sporangial wall composed of elongate fusiform cells, with unevenly thickened walls, deceasing in size distally and oriented with long axes at c. 45° to long axes of sporangium. Homosporous. Trilete possibly azonate spores with rounded to rounded-triangular ambs and rays (=labrate laesurae) extending to equator. Spore diameter 15–19 μm (x̄=19 μm). Entire surface of spore including triradiate folds covered by grana.
