- Diagnosis
- Growth rings indistinct or absent, wood diffuse porous. Vessels solitary
and in short radial multiples, mean tangential diameter 150–200 μm, intervessel pits alternate, vessel-ray parenchyma pits similar to intervessel pits but somewhat larger or enlarged with reduced borders. Fibers non-septate. Axial parenchyma vasicentric and diffuse-in-aggregates. Rays non-storied, 1–12-seriate, composed of low procumbent body ray cells, sheath cells, and 2–4 marginal rows of square to upright or tall procumbent cells. Axial parenchyma and vasicentric tracheids storied.
