- Diagnosis
- Vessels arranged in discontinuous tangential bands, usually 1–2 vessels wide. Simple
perforation plates. Axial parenchyma scalariform unilateral. Alternate intervessel pitting.
Rays of two distinct sizes, uniseriate and multiseriate, multiseriate rays usually
more than 9 and less than 18 cells wide and 2–4 mm high.
