- Diagnosis
- Pistillate heads of many morphologically indistinct flowers with reduced perianths. Carpels (achenes in infructescences) dense, simultaneously maturating, narrowly elliptical, pubescent. Seed filling the locule. Carpel cuticle of narrow elongate cells,
with hair bases. Seed integument showing polygonal
cells.
