Diagnosis
Leaves triangular or ovate (awl-like or claw-like); prominently keeled on the abaxial surface. Leaf margin denticulate or entire with a denticulate fringe on the acuminate apex. Leaves epistomatic. Epidermal cells inflated but lacking distinct papillae. Stomata arranged in two bands in an inverted V-shaped array. Stomata strongly sunken and protected by up to seven overarching papillae.
