- Diagnosis
- Wood with well developed growth rings, annular to semiannular
porosity; solitary (70%), radial multiples of 2–3 (20%) and
small clusters (10%) of vessel elements, simple perforation plate
inclined up to 15°, intervascular pits alternate, oval to polygonal, 4–
5 μm in larger diameter, ray-vessel element pits opposite, ovoid, 5 μm
in larger diameter, gums present; septate (60%) libriform fibres;
homogeneous 3–5 seriate rays; vasicentric and aliform apotracheal
parenchyma, 2–3 cells wide marginal parenchyma and diffuse
paratracheal parenchyma.
