Diagnosis
Miospores radial, trilete. A mb pentagonal t o hexagonal, sides straight to convex, apic es rounded to weakly pointed. Laesurae distinct to moderately indistinct, straight to weakly sinuous, extending to, or nearly to equator, usually marked by a characteristic defi ned margo (lips 1-2.5 μm wide individually) laevigate proxi mally, proximo-equatorial region occasion ally bearing extension of distal sculpture, reticulate distally and equatorially with thick to narro w, concave - to straight - sided muri, ca. 3-5 μm wide, 2-1 1 μm high, and, polygonal to subpolygonal lumina ca. 5-13 μm (rarely up to 15 μm) in diameter; in some specimens muri are so thin and delicate that sometimes are folded at the margin.
