- Diagnosis
- Microcachrys foliage; each scale leaf with a
marginal frill of finger-like cilia and ctenoidally arranged cells,
often transitioning from cilia in basal half of the leaf to smooth
frill in the apical half and apex. Florin rings prominent, segmented
by grooves. Polar extensions present on cuticle associated
with guard cells. Anticlinal cell wall cuticle not distinctly
beaded or pitted.
