Diagnosis
Сompound polysperms consisting of an axis bearing helically arranged distant bracts. Each bract subtending a free lateral radial symmetrical simple polysperm. Its axis bearing ordinary foliage leaves replaced near the apex by a bunch of flattened seed stalks (monosperms). Apex of seed stalk abaxially bent and forming a hood that covers the ovule attached to the abaxial side of the seed stalk below its inflection.
