The name only occurs in the combination 'Zosterophyllum articulatum' in a list of species. There is no description, only an attribution of the name to Pomel without date or other citation. On p. 503 of H. Rodin, 1863, 'Esquisse sur la végétation du Départment de l'Oise'. Mémoires de la Société Académique d'Archéologie, Sciences & Arts du Départment de l'Oise 5(2):353-508, the species listed again but with attribution 'Pomel, mss' indicating that it was not a published species.
