- Androecium three-lobed, bilaterally symmetrical and dorsiventrally flattened with all pollen sacs borne laterally but inclined toward the (presumed) adaxial surface; central lobe tetrasporangiate with the pollen sacs paired to form two thecae; lateral lobes each bisporangiate with one theca. Dehiscence valvate.
