- Diagnosis
- Perianth hypogynous, actinomorphic, with five petals,
calyx lacking. Petals subequal in size, elliptical to obovate, entire-margined,
base narrow to widely cuneate, apex obtuse, imbricately arranged.
Petal venation consisting of five longitudinally subparallel primary veins, craspedodromous, rarely camptodromous, all arising independently
from the base of the petals. Central disk circular, bearing
one whorl of five free ovaries, which alternate with the petals.
