- Diagnosis
- Predominant abietoid pitting usually in one row, two pits side by side often with flattened line of contact only in the broadest tracheids; regular tangential pitting of tracheids; absent spiral thickening; smooth ray walls; ray heights up to 40 cells with 30% biseriate consisting of parenchyma cells, only; cross-field with only one podocarpoid pit; abundant axial parenchyma cords, often tangential bundled with simple pits on radial and tangential walls; abundant trabeculae; resin ducts absent.
