Diagnosis
Indistinct growth rings, diffuse porous; vessels solitary and in radial multiples of 2, simple perforation plate; alternate polygonal, medium to large, intervessel pits with elliptical apertures, vessel-ray parenchyma pits, with reduced borders, circular to oval and occasionally horizontally elongated; axial parenchyma is vasicentric and scanty paratracheal and apotracheal diffuse; uniseriate and multiseriate 2 – 5 cells wide heterocellular rays type IIA; nonseptate and septate libriform fi bers.
